Lenten Reflections 2025: Fifth Week of Lent

Lenten Reflections 2025

Fifth Week of Lent - Sunday, April 6th

Lord, as we approach the end of our Lenten journey, we, too, approach the end of the creation account in our prayer, the sixth day of creation.

What a great gift to be created in Your image and likeness as a reminder, not only of the earthly perfection we are called to, but of the heavenly perfection You have prepared for each of us.

Thank you, too, for the gift of the humanity of Jesus, for it is through His humanity and His divinity united together that we have hope of sharing in eternal life with You. Although we are made in Your image and likeness, like the Pharisees in today’s Gospel, we are reminded that none of us are without sin.

Help us to use these final days of Lent to repent of our sinful ways and allow You to breathe new life into our hearts with the coming of Your Resurrection.

Help us, too, to remove our judgment of the sins and failings of others. Mold our hearts after Your Sacred Heart, O Lord. A heart filled with patience, compassion, and understanding for our brothers and sisters.

We make this prayer through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
